Jin Fengxiang


As a doctorial tutor and an academician of Russian Academy of Natural Science, Doctor and Professor Jin Fengxiang graduated from the Geology Faculty of Shandong Mining Institute in 1982, and studied abroad in Ecole Supérieur des Géomètres et Topographes (ESGT) in France and CERN in Geneva in Switzerland from 1986 to 1988. He was awarded Doctorate Degree in Engineering from Central South University in 1994, and from 1998 to 1999 was abroad in CERN for international scientific and technological cooperation and engaged in postdoctoral research. He was the Deputy Chief and Chief of the Geological Science Faculty, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party and deputy president of Shandong University of Science and Technology since December 1999, president and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Shandong Jianzhu University since January 2012 , a visiting professor of EPFL in Lausanne in Switzerland, a research associate of CERN, a member of the second specialized committee of International Society for Mining Surveying (ISM), a director of Chinese Society for Geodesy Photogrammetry and Cartography (CSGPC), a member of the Steering Committee of China Geodesy Photogrammetry and Cartography Education, a member of Youth Working Committee of China Coal Society, Deputy President of Shandong Society for Geodesy Photogrammetry and Cartography, and one of the first selected talents of the national level of New Centaury Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project who enjoys the state government special allowance and is one of the top talents of coal industry.


Jin is a senior expert under direct control and contact of the central government, a renowned scholar in surveying and mapping science and technology in our country, enjoys extensive academic exchange and scientific and technological cooperation domestically and abroad, has made high level scientific and technological achievements in survey data processing theory, gyrotheodolite orientation theory, survey and analysis of deformation, digital pattern recognition algorithm theory, and remote environment sensing, etc. and has received many invitations to give lectures abroad and for international cooperation for scientific and technological researches with considerable influence over his domestic and foreign counterparts. Particularly in statistical diagnosis of linear model theory and vector analysis, he has made remarkable breakthroughs and has published 2 comprehensive academic papers in a famous journal in Britain which won high praise from his counterparts. In the research of pattern recognition theory, he is the first person to raise the digital pattern recognition concept, and preliminarily set up the relative concept, term, definition, theoretical structure and technological method, for which he is called the leader in the international research of this field, established a research team, published more than 100 academic papers internationally and over 60 of them were included by SCI and EI.His research has been applied respectively in Study of Stability of Large Ring Ion Accelerator of CERN, a major research cooperation item with CERN, overcame the major technical difficulty internationally for study of stability of accelerators which won high praise from his international counterparts, and invited to give lectures in many international meetings. A respected journal in Germany published his achievements in this research in succession, for which he was engaged by FIG as a member of the 6th committee and deputy chairman of the 4th committee gaining high honor for the country. By applying the digital pattern recognition theory and method of his research achievements, the "National 863 Key Program (High Technology Research and Development Program of China)" and the state-supported research of "Accurate Monitoring of Ecotope and Geological Disaster in Special Areas" has made breakthrough progress which solved the technical problems of accurate monitoring of special areas and under special conditions in our country.




In recent years, Jin undertook and completed 1 project (with fund of RMB 4.37 million) of the National 863 Key Program, 2 projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation, 1 sub-subject of the National 863 Key Program, 8 international cooperation projects, 9 projects of ministerial level and 4 projects of provincial level. 7 of his research findings reached the advanced international level, 1 was award the first prize, 1 second prize and 2 third prizes of Science and Technology Progress Award of the provincial or ministerial level, 1 first prize of Best Survey and Mapping Textbooks of Universities and Colleges in China, and 1 second prize of Excellent Teaching Achievement Award of provincial level. He has also published 4 monographs and over 160 academic papers. Currently he is responsible for 1 project (with funding of RMB 4.52 million) supported by the National Scientific and Technological Program, 1 project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation and 3 projects of provincial level.


Jin has won honorary titles of “Best Young University Teacher in Shandong Province” and “Best Member of the Communist Party in Shandong Province”, etc. and “Science and Technology Award for Youth” of energy scientific and technological award supported by Sun Yueqi Science and Technology Education Foundation of China Scientific and Technological Development Foundation, Shandong Provincial Excellent Scientific and Technological Worker, Shandong Provincial Excellent Postgraduate Tutor, and Outstanding Achievements Award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Overseas Professionals in Shandong Province.


Fu Chuanguo




Born in July in 1963, Professor Fu Chuanguo holds a Doctorate Degree in Structural Engineering from Southeast University. He is a State Council Expert for Special Allowance, a young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions in Shandong Province, a member of the 10th Youth Association, and one of the first master teachers of Shandong Jianzhu University. He is currently acting as the chief of the Division of Science and Technology of Shandong Jianzhu University.


His other roles outside the university include standing director of Shandong Civil Works Society, member of the Seismic Retrofitting Professional Board of Earthquake Disaster Prevention Branch of Architecture Society of China, a member of the Structure Fire Resistance Specialist Committee of Earthquake Disaster Prevention Branch of Architecture Society of China, chairman of the Education Committee of Shandong Civil Works Society, deputy chairman of the Concrete Works Committee, deputy chairman of the Architecture Structure Specialized Committee of Shandong Architecture Society, a member of the Seismic Fortification Audit Specialist Committee of Out of Codes High-Rise Buildings of Shandong Provincial Construction Dept., and a member of Shandong Architecture Used Steel Specialist Committee.


He has been long engaged in research and teaching of new concrete structure system and its disaster mitigation. He has published over 60 papers in China Civil Engineering Journal, Journal of Building Structures, Building Structures, Special Structures and other core journals, five monographs and textbooks. In recent years, he led and participated in more than 20 national, provincial, ministerial, or departmental scientific research programs, five of which won science and technology progress awards of provincial and department level, including two second prizes of Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, two third prizes of Science and Technology Progress Award of Shandong Province and Jiangsu Province, and one first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Urban and Rural Construction System of Shandong Province. In 2007, he was elected as one of the candidates for the first and second tier of the New Century National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project.


In 2005, the achievements of Practices in Building and Reforming the Major of Civil Engineering in Local Institutions led by Fu won the first prize of teaching achievement in Shandong Province. At present he is leading a number of research programs sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Natural Science Foundation of Shandong, studies of major special science and technology sub-subjects of Shandong Province, national key scientific and technological programs of Ministry of Construction and many other government sponsored researches.


Lu Xiaoyang





Born in 1955 and holding doctorate degree from Tsinghua University, Professor Lu Xiaoyang is the deputy president of Shandong Jianzhu University and a doctorial supervisor of Shandong University. His doctorial thesis won the Excellent Engineering Practice Award of Tsinghua University. He was selected as one of the candidates for the first and second level of the New Century National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project in 1995, He is a State Council Expert for Special Allowance, a young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions in Shandong Province, director of Shandong Computational Mechanics Society, and deputy director of Computational Mechanics Society of the Seven Southern Provinces.



In 1999 Professor Lu Xiaoyang attended trainings on Intellectualization and Structure Design of Modern Buildings in University of California, Berkeley and in 2003 went to Japan as a visiting scholar of Mie University and Osaka Institute of Technology. He is the postgraduate supervisor and an academic leader of three master programs of Engineering Mechanics, Structural Engineering, and Material Science and Processing Engineering in the university. His researches orientate in Engineering Elastoplasticity Theory and Optimized Structure Design, Computational Structural Mechanics and Computer Aided Design, and New Technology and Relevant Mechanics Problems of Plastic Working of Materials.



Professor Lu Xiaoyang has given lectures on six foundation courses for undergraduates and five specialized foundation courses for postgraduates. As the researcher ranked first, six of his researches, such as Plastic Molding Theory of Equal-Thickness Bends and Its Workmanship & Facility, respectively won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of China University Technology Invention Award of the Ministry of Education, the second and the third prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Shandong Province and the Ministry of Education. He has published over 60 academic papers in Chinese Science Bulletin, Chinese Journal of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering, Journal of Plasticity Engineering, Chinese Journal of Computational Mechanics and other domestic and foreign academic publications, of which 10 was included by EI, SCI, ISTP and Chinese Mechanics abstract.


Zhang Xin


Born in July 1985, Zhang Xin graduated from Shandong Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering and majored in Industrial and Civil Architecture. In the same year he entered Tsinghua University for postgraduate studies. After graduated from Civil Engineering Faculty of Tsinghua University in July 1987, he was assigned to Shandong Jianzhu University for teaching and researches. In March 2006, he was awarded doctorate degree from Tongji University. At present, he is a postgraduate supervisor, head of Identification and Consolidation Institute under Shandong Jianzhu University, standing deputy director of Shandong Research Center for Civil Engineering Structure Diagnosis and Disaster Resistance Engineering Technology, director of Concrete Teaching and Research Office, director of Structural Engineering Laboratory (a major lab at provincial level). As a young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions in Shandong Province, he was awarded Shandong Labor Model for Enriching the People and Rejuvenate Shandong, Labor Model for Contributions to Jinan, and one of the training candidates for backbones of the young and middle-aged academic staffs and leaders of academic research, a member of Committee of Assessment and Strengthening of Buildings (under China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization), a member of Foundation Pit Engineering Committee of Architecture Society of China, FRP and Engineering Application Committee of China Civil Engineering Society, and a member of Tall Building Structure Committee of Shandong Architecture Society.



Oriented in the research of basic theory of concrete structures, and identification, consolidation and modification of engineering structures and relevant fields, he has published over 80 academic papers, edited or participated in the compliance of four academic monographs. He gives lectures on courses for undergraduates including Basic Theory of Concrete Structures, Concrete Structures and Masonry Structures, Engineering Structures, and Design of Tall Building Structures as well as guides graduation thesis. He has led and participated in more than 10 researches with findings all converted into productivity. In 1994 he was the first in our country to carry out research on soil nailing technology, reaching the domestic advanced level. Comparing with the traditional method, this method can save cost by more than 60%, shorten construction time by more than 70%. At present, this technology is adopted for over 90% of foundations pits (side slopes) in Shandong Province adopts for supporting, and Specification for Soil Nailing in Foundation Excavation (CECS96:97) that he participated for the draft won the second prize of Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. Since 1998 he has completed over 20 projects based on theoretical researches and engineering application of monolithic movement of buildings, reaching the international advanced level. He has led the largest building movement works in the world that is 24,000 m2 in area and 35,000 t in weight and led the building movement works with 30 km in distance which is the domestic longest movement distance. Comparing with removing and reconstruction, this method saved cost by over 50-70%, shortened construction time over 80%, and avoided large building wastes and social conflicts resulted from relocation. This research achievement won the second prize of Science and Technology Progress Awards of the Ministry of Education and Shandong Province. Two of his research findings have been applied for innovation patents. He is a drafter of Technical Code for Moving, Incline-rectifying, Storey-increasing and Reconstruction of Buildings. He has led and completed over 1000 engineering structure retrofitting projects saving a large amount of construction funds for the country. His research findings won the third prize of Shandong Provincial Science & Technology Progress Award. He also joined the draft of the national standards including Standards for Durability Assessment of Concrete Structures and Code for Durability Design of Concrete Structures.


Zhou Xuejun



Holding a doctorate degree in engineering, Professor Zhou Xuejun is a postgraduate supervisor, a doctorial supervisor of Shandong University, a renowned expert on steel structural engineering technology, and a State Council Expert for Special Allowance. He is also the chair professor in the discipline of Disaster Prevention and Reduction and Protection of Engineering Structure of Shandong Jianzhu University, one of the Top Ten Outstanding Teachers in Shandong colleges and universities, a Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions in Shandong Province and was selected as one of the candidates of national level for the New Century National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project. At present, he is the dean of School of Civil Engineering of Shandong Jianzhu University, director of the national-level Teaching Demonstration Center of Civil Engineering Practice of Shandong Jianzhu University, chief of the national-level characteristic major Civil Engineering Science, director of Shandong Provincial Research Center of Steel Structure Technology for Green Buildings. Since 1997, he started to give lectures to certified supervising engineers and project directors, receiving high recognition.



His social appointments: a member of the Steering Committee for Civil Engineering Science Teaching in Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education, director of China Steel Construction Society, a member of Specialist Committee of China Steel Construction Society, a member of Steel Structure Specialist Committee of China Construction Metal Structure Association, chairman of Shandong Steel Association of, director of Shandong Steel Structure Technical Committees, and a member of Shandong Earthquake Resistance Examination Committee of High-rise Overrun Building.



Having focused in teaching, research and development of steel structures and space structures for over 20 years, Professor Zhou Xuejun has published over 100 academic papers in the Journal of Building Structures, China Civil Engineering Journal and other domestic major journals as well as 10 monographs, of which Design and Construction of Portal Frame Light Steel Structure (published by Shandong Science & Technology Press) was honored as the first monograph in our country specially discussing the design and construction of Portal Frame Light Steel Structure. Its publication has promoted the healthy development of the light steel structure in our country. As the primary researcher, he was awarded three second prizes and one third prize of Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, four prizes of Excellent Scientific Research Achievement Award of Shandong Colleges and Universities and one prize of Excellent Achievement Award of Computer Application in Shandong Province. He has participated in or led the compliance of Shandong Provincial local codes, such as Guidelines for Green Energy-Saving Steel Structure Residential Buildings of Laigang Corporation, Shandong Code for Seismic Design of Buildings, and Jinan Technical Guidelines for CSI Residential Buildings. To promote the conversion of his research findings into actual productivity, he has participated in the design and review of many space structures with large- and middle-sized spans and light steel structures, such as, the 110 m span astylar canopy of Jinan Railway Station, Yantai Sports Center, Zhaoyuan Sports Center, and Linyi Bus Terminal. Before the commencement of the 11th National Games in Shandong Province, many cities in Shandong Province built a number of gymnasiums, for which light steel structure are adopted as their primary structure. As a key expert, he participated in the project approachment and technical consultation of most these gymnasiums and was engaged as the counselor of steel structure of Jinan Olympic Sports Center. All these gymnasiums have received good social and economical benefits. It is for this that he was honored the prize of Special Contribution Award for Supporting Key Works of the 11th National Games by relevant agency of Jinan Government.
